ABOUT US

TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More
The MV ‘SPIRIT of Hope’ is a former passenger ship that was purchased by the Point of Difference organisation to support people all over the world with medical aid. We also help in disasters as a floating hospital.

Today it is more important than ever to help each other. Not only in Africa, for example, but also in Asia and South and Central America. Our portfolio consists of medical aid with various aspects. From the removal of tumours or the setting of old broken bones to eye operations and dentistry.

As a subsidiary of Point of Difference, we are part of the NGO and work on a voluntary basis.

All donations you make to the Point of Difference or the Spirit of Hope will be used 100% for charitable purposes.

Point of Difference was founded in the heart of East Frisia. to support people worldwide with medical and sustainable aid.

Point of Difference was founded with experience from the maritime, civil protection and social sectors.

With 13 years of global seafaring experience and 8 years of experience in disaster control with the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief and Johanniter Unfallhilfe, Carsten Buss had the idea for Point of Difference early on.
Ingo Ulferts then agreed to put the project into action at a service evening of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief.

The aim is to provide people around the world with the best possible medical assistance.
Both in normal circumstances and in the event of disasters such as floods or storms.
